Jim Sallee, Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago’s Harris School, recently spoke to RDCEP’s student group. He discussed two of his recent research papers on fuel economy standards in the United States and Japan.

Seven RDCEP members volunteered at the second annual STEMapalooza, a science expo organized by the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. The purpose of the event, which took place on Saturday, March 9, was to reach out to girls and cultivate their interest in STEM careers.

The University of Chicago Steam Plant is powered by natural gas. 

We walked down into the steam tunnel with the engineer. It was quite warm and we could hear the water traps (like radiator sounds).
