Foster Children

"Foster Children" is the RDCEP Student Group, humorously named after RDCEP's director, Ian Foster.  Students from high school interns to postdoctoral scholars and researchers meet weekly to discuss topics of interest and learn from one another in a multidisciplinary environment. While the group is composed primarily of students affiliated with RDCEP, it is open to anyone interested in attending.

The group meets weekly, and meetings include:

  • Presentation and evaluation of student research and work;
  • Discussion of current events relevant to RDCEP;
  • Guest speakers; and
  • Analysis of scholarly literature related to RDCEP.

The meeting time for Winter Quarter 2013 is Thursday at 12 pm in Searle 240b.

Upcoming Talks:

Thursday March 14 -- William Leeds, Postdoctoral Scholar, Department of the Geophysical Sciences

Thursday April 4 -- Maggie King, Graduate Student, Harris School of Public Policy

Thursday April 11 -- Michaela Carey, Research Assistant, Computation Institute

Thursday April 18 -- Ian Foster, Professor of Computer Science and Director of RDCEP
