Today was this school year’s first urban research colloquium class at Lindblom with a new group of students ranging from eighth to twelfth graders. We introduced ourselves to one another, and the students completed a pre-survey in order to get an idea of their interests and how comfortable they are with statistics and data analyses. The students were each given a research notebook to use for the duration of the course. We discussed an overview of what the course will entail, which is designing and conducting a research project. At the end of class the students wrote some of their thoughts and questions in their research notebooks.
